City-Wide Clean-Up Days 2018

WHO: Residents that provide photo identification and current proof of address (June water bill) within the corporate limits of the City of Villa Grove – non-residents will be turned away
WHEN: Friday, June 22 – 12pm-7pm AND Saturday, June 23 – 8am-6pm
WHERE: Villa Grove School Parking (Back parking lot located on the west side of the school)
PRICE FOR NON-ELECTRONICS: FREE
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND, THE CITY WILL BE SPONSORING AN ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT WITH COM2 RECYCLING OF CHARLESTON
WHEN: Saturday, June 24 – 12pm-3pm ONLY
WHERE: Villa Grove Schools, in the back/west parking lot
RECYCLING FEE FOR ELECTRONICS: $5.00 per ITEM
TIRE RECYCLING WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAY FROM 8AM-6PM.
THOSE RECYCLING FEES WILL BE: $2 PER CAR TIRE AND $7 PER SEMI TIRE
LISTS OF ITEMS NOT ALLOWED IN EACH AREA OF THE CLEAN-UP DAYS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT CITY HALL (612 FRONT ST) AND ON THE CITY’S WEBSITE PAGE AT www.villagrove.org OR THE VILLA GROVE NEWS FACEBOOK PAGE.
ITEMS NOT ALLOWED BY ADVANCED DISPOSAL TO BE INCLUDED IN REGULAR CLEAN-UP DAY CONTAINERS INCLUDE:
Tires of any kind or size; Car parts or components of any kind; Solvents such as paints, oils, fuels, and thinners; Yard waste such as clippings, trimmings, leaves, limbs, and branches; Batteries; Florescent light tubes; Concrete, bricks, and rocks; Burnt material/ashes of any kind; Appliances (stoves, refridgerators, dishwashers, water heaters, dryers, freezers, and air conditioning units); E-Waste Electronic equipment such as Computers, Monitors, and Televisions; Asbestos materials/Hazardous Waste; Petroleum-contaminated soil; Industrial Waste; Chemicals; Herbicides and Pesticides; Radioactive Materials; Flammable Liquids; Propane tanks or equipment; Motor Oil; Transmission Oil; Lubricants/Hydraulic oil/oil filters/contaminated oils (mixed with solvents &/or gasoline); Antifreeze; Lead Paint Chips; Railroad Ties; Medical Waste; Animals; Liquids
ITEMS NOT ALLOWED BY COM2 RECYCLING SOLUTIONS TO BE INCLUDED IN ELECTRONICS CLEAN-UP DAY CONTAINERS INCLUDE:
Radioactive Materials; Hazardous Materials (oil, antifreeze, paint); Non-electronics (trees, dirt, wood, asbestos, office waste, insulations, fiberglass, roofing, solid waste, furniture); Corrosives (batteries); Compressed Gas Cylinders (propane); Flammable Materials (any kind); Other Hazardous Materials (pesticides, oil filters, mercury switches, fluorescent lights, air bags, lead); Refrigerants (freon or freon substitutes, cars, compressors, air conditioners); PCBs (capacitors, transformers, ballasts); Explosives (fire arms, ammunition, shells)
